Betonite clay
Betonite clay has always been used to treat a number of skin ailments. However, did you know that it can cure the problem of blackheads too? When you apply a mask of betonite clay on your face, it will do an amazing job of removing the impurities from your skin and helps improve the blood circulation in the affected areas.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon of betonite clay
Some water
Method
Mix the two ingredients together but make sure it forms a paste like consistency after some time. Cover your face with a thin layer of the paste and let it remain there for ten to twenty minutes. Rinse with some warm water and apply a moisturiser to your face as usual.
Egg white mask
Egg whites can temporarily tighten the pores of your skin and reduce the chances of getting blackheads in the future. Moreover, they will also remove the blackheads that are there on your face right now. The whites of eggs also contain nutrients that are important for the health of your skin.

Method
Clean your face, to begin with. Break the egg and apply a thin layer of the white of the egg on the affected areas of your face. Carefully apply a second layer of the white of the egg on your face. If you want, you can also apply a third layer but that is completely up to you. After some time, you will feel the skin tighten. Then, peel off all the layers of the dried white of the egg. Wash your face and pat it dry with a clean towel.
Milk and honey
Both milk as well as honey have properties that are good for the skin. The lactic acid that is present in milk is said to help keep the skin supple and soft.
You will need
1 teaspoon of milk
1 tablespoon of honey (raw and organic)
A clean strip of cotton
Method
Mix both milk as well as honey together. Heat the mixture in a microwave oven for about five to ten seconds and mix the ingredients again. Apply over the blackheads when the mixture has reached a comfortable temperature. Then, gently pat a few cotton strips onto the affected areas. Let the mixture dry on the skin and after some time (say, at least twenty minutes); gently pull the strips from the affected areas. Apply a moisturiser after rinsing with cold water and patting dry with a towel.
Oatmeal scrub
Scrubbing can help open up those hair follicles that have been blocked by dirt and oil. Preparing an oatmeal scrub and applying it on your face will help you get rid of whiteheads easily.
Ingredients
1/4th cup of brown sugar
1/3rd cup of oatmeal
1/4th cup of honey
Method
Mix these three ingredients together and apply on the affected areas of your face. Massage your face gently for about five minutes. Then, wash your face and pat dry with a clean towel.
Tomatoes
Since tomatoes are rich sources of Vitamin C, they are extremely good for the skin. All you need to do is take the pulp of a few tomatoes, mix them together and apply this mixture on the whiteheads alone. Then, wash your face after five minutes. Pat your face dry with a clean towel.
Honey and cinnamon strips
It may sound like a luscious candy. However, these strips can easily help you get rid of blackheads. The agents that can kill bacteria that cause pimples and acne are present in honey.
You will need
1 part honey (raw and organic)
1 part cinnamon powder
A strip of cotton
Method
Mix the cinnamon powder and honey together. Apply a thin layer of the mixture on the blackheads. Then, press clean strips of cotton on each of the blackheads. Let them remain on your skin for about five to ten minutes. Pull out the strips gently. Then, rinse your face and do not forget to apply your favourite moisturiser.
Benzoyl peroxide
Simply applying benzoyl peroxide on the affected areas of your face will take care of the whiteheads. This is because it contains antibacterial agents that can reduce the blockages caused by the bacteria.
Lemon
Blackheads are the result of clogged pores.If you want to get rid of them, the pores need to be shrunk. Since lemon juice is an astringent, it can effectively get the job done.
You will need
1 lemon
A small bottle
Cotton balls
Method
Wash your face, to begin with. Pat your face dry with a clean towel. Then, use the cotton balls to apply the juice extracted from a lemon on the affected areas. Make sure you apply the lemon juice three to four times a day for a few weeks before bedtime. When you wake up, rinse the face with some lukewarm water. After patting your face dry, apply some moisturiser on it.
Orange peel, lemon juice, and garlic scrub
Orange peels, lemon juice, and garlic are all good for the removal of whiteheads.
Ingredients
3 tablespoons of lemon juice
½ the peel of an orange
2 cloves of garlic
Method
Use a blender to form a thick paste after mixing these three ingredients together. Apply this scrub on the affected areas. Wait for about ten minutes. Rinse it off with some lukewarm water. Repeat this home remedy twice a day.
Olive oil and sugar
Olive oil and sugar can help remove whiteheads quite easily.
Ingredients
A few drops of olive oil
1 teaspoon of sugar
Method
Mix the two ingredients well together. Apply on the affected areas using a toothbrush or a soft brush. Let it remain on the face for about ten minutes. Keep rubbing the mixture on your face till then and then, rinse off the mixture. Follow this home remedy twice a week.
